Why We Choose Disney Over and Over Again…

“What? You’re going, AGAIN? Don’t you want to go somewhere else for a change?” We get this a lot when we say we are going to Disney (and sometimes don’t even tell people we are going), but recently it has gotten me thinking a little bit more about why we always choose Disney for family vacations or even for quick weekend getaways.
Over the last 16 years, we typically went to Disneyland at least once a year. A couple of times, we even went down twice…and maybe there was that one year we went three times. Obviously, Disneyland is a lot of fun, but I think there are a few things besides all the fun that make it our go-to place to take a break.
When we go, we take a break from everyday life. Life can be stressful, and we are all busy. Busy with work, school, gymnastics, dance… When we go to Disney, we forget about all our worries and just have fun as a family.
No matter what age our kids are, there is always something new they are excited to experience. While the days of getting autographs from Princesses, matching dresses and Disney Jr. shows are behind us, we are still able to experience Disney Magic with teens in a new way. Thrill rides, good food and stage shows are now appreciated more than they were in the past. We love watching our girls interact in a way we do not see at home, and our days are filled with laughter and lots of conversation!
So, yes, we do go to Disneyland often, and yes it may seem like too much for some people, but I promise every trip is different than the last, and it’s always magical. We enjoy it together as a family, as a couple, and with friends. It truly is our happy place and our home away from home.
oh…and did I mention we are going to Disneyland again this December?
